Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-08-02
This policy explains what The DNS Tools (thednstools.com) does with your data. The short version: for the tools on this site, your files are processed in your browser and are not uploaded to us or anyone else.
Files you process
The PDF and file tools on this site run entirely in your browser. Your files are read locally and never transmitted to our servers or any third party. We cannot see your files, their contents, their names, or their metadata.
A few tools on our related sites must query an external service to work at all (for example, DNS lookups contact public DNS resolvers). Where that is the case, it is stated on the tool's page before you use it.
Analytics
We currently do not use any analytics, tracking pixels, or usage-measurement tools. We do not build profiles of visitors. If we add privacy-respecting analytics in future, we will update this page and the cookie policy first, and request consent where the law requires it.
Advertising
We currently show no advertisements and load no advertising code. If advertising is introduced, it will be disclosed here and gated behind your consent where required.
Data stored in your browser
We store a few small preferences in your browser's local storage so the site behaves the way you expect:
- Your theme choice (light or dark).
- Your language choice.
- Optionally, "recently used tools" so you can find them again — stored only on your device.
The contact form
If you send us a message through the contact form, the name, email address, and message you provide are used solely to read and reply to your request. We do not use them for marketing.
Your rights
Because the tools do not collect personal data, there is generally nothing for us to hold about you. If you have contacted us, you can ask us to delete the message you sent. Use the contact form for any privacy request.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will revise the "Last updated" date shown above.
